NXT Results for January 4, 2012- *VIDEO INCLUDED*
We begin the show with Matt Striker in the middle of the ring, as per usual, it seems. Striker says 2012 will be exciting for NXT. Tonight, there will be a huge main event. Two of the current rookies will square off one on one…didn’t they do that already? He reminds us of the 100th episode coming up and as such, he will be inviting past NXT alumni. His guest tonight, Michael McGillucutty. William Regal is back! Woo hoo!! Striker wants to shake the hand of McG but he brushes him off to say that he has arrived. He says that NXT sucks. He remembers being here. It gave him absolutely nothing. As a matter of fact, he went on to jump John Cena. He became a part of the most dominate faction in WWE history, The Nexus. He’s a former WWE Tag Team Champion. He didn’t accomplish this because of NXT, though, he did that because he did what he wants when he wants. Doesn’t matter what show, no one is going to stop him from becoming a success. Ah, but the music hits and Alex Riley is here!
Alex says it’s great to be back in Little Rock and shakes the hands of Striker. He wants to know what happened to McG. He had the opportunity for careers and he gets an opportunity to come back and take the chance to run down the show and the town it’s in? You think joining a group of people and beating up on Cena makes you a superstar? take it from someone who knows, it doesn’t. The only way to earn respect in this business is in this ring. Riley offers a match tonight. Cheap shot from McG as they roll around on the ring and Striker calls for a ref.
Match 1: Alex Riley vs. Michael McGillicutty
McG goes for a right, but Alex ducks under and gets a right or two of his own. McG goes for the corner but Alex ducks again, hits the ropes and hits a clothesline then sends McG to the outside! McG gets back in the ring hesitantly. McG kicks Riley down then hits a few rights and some stomps into the corner. McG with a right into the corner. Riley reverses and sends him to the corner. Riley sends him to the opposite then splashes! He looks for a DDT, faceplants him and pins for a two count. Riley sends mcG to the ropes, but McG comes back and sends Riley to the outside. Riley tries for a high kick but McG moves and boots him off the apron as we go to break.
We are back and Riley is just fighting out of a headlock only for McG to hit him harrd in the back of the head then pinning. 1…2..NO. McG with a couple of stomps in the corner then a few rights to the seated Riley. A mule kick and McG taunts the crowd. McG chokes Riley on the ropes then hits some forearms to the sides of Riley’s face. McG to the outside then hits a hard right to Riley. McG rolls in quickly to cover and gets a 2. McG with a stomp then a kick to the chest. A knee to the back and a cravat from behind. Another cover by McG and it only gets a 2. Michael with a backbreaker and a pin for 1…2..No go. He pulls back on the chin of Riley then locks in a side headlock on the mat. He elevates himself to apply more pressure. Riley is finally able to fight out of it with a back elbow then an STO to the mat! Riley has the fire and ducks a clothesline then hits the Spinebuster. Riley with a kick and goes for a DDT, but here’s McG with a Siato suplex and a pin for 1…2..NO! Regal puts us up on game, informing us that McG was taught the move due to his father working with Saito in AWA. McG goes up top only for Riley to run up and Suplex him down to the mat. Nearfall! Both men are up. Riley sets up for the A Bomb but McG gets out, kicks and goes for the swinging neckbreaker! Riley moves for that, A-Bomb and a pin for 1…2…3!!!
Winner: Alex Riley

Alex Riley vs. Michael McGillicutty:
I still think that McGillicutty should wear a bright colored singlet in honor of his father; especially because it will differentiate him from some of the other NXT duplicates. The feel each other out and exchange slaps and overhand wristlocks; Riley gets the final reversal, so McGillicutty retreats to the ropes, and kicks Riley’s leg out; McGillicutty gets a little bit of fisticuffs offense in before Riley comes back with a hiptoss. He mounts the buckles for a ten-punch into a leaping reverse DDT. McGillicutty comes back with a clothesline (allegedly) and stomps the poo-poo out of Riley. He entangles him in the ropes and drops him on the back of his head with a hangman’s neckbreaker, for two. McGillicutty applies a chinlock and rolls-through a reversal attempt to maintain it; he hits a running dropkick and then reapplies a chinlock. He forces Riley to the floor and then is so slow to come after him Riley is able to counter with a running knee as McGillicutty is coming through the ropes. Riley begins a comeback with clotheslines and spinebuster; Riley hoists him into the Final Score, formerly the A-Bomb (fireman’s carry cutter), for the three. Match that was dominated by McGillicutty offense, aka chinlocks, Riley gets the win because he is the only one who is moderately over; I still swear Curt Hennig’s son is Dolph Ziggler not Michael McGillicutty.
Here is your winner… Alex Riley @ about 7:25 via Final Score pinfall.

Alex Riley vs. Michael McGillicutty:
McGillicutty tosses his cap at Riley and belligerently pounds the crap on him in the corner, drawing the ire of referee Chad Patton; Riley takes advantage reversing and delivering the receipt. McGillicutty reverses a cross-corner whip but misses the follow up charge; Riley levels him with a running clothesline and a Stinger splash. A mounted ten-punch in the corner, follows for Riley, and then follows up with a leaping reverse DDT out of the corner; he tries one corner charge too many and posts his shoulder. McGillicutty stomps the shoulder into the ring post from the apron and then a dropkick in the ring; he focuses on the shoulder and then applies a chinlock. Riley fires back but gets a whip reversed into a Regal Cutter for two. They exchange blows with McGillicutty getting the better of it; he then drops some fists and reapplies the headlock. Riley fires back with an STO, rebounding off of a corner whip; he begins his comeback with forearms and clotheslines. He plants McGillicutty with a spinebuster and Riley Elevation but only gets a nearfall. Riley heads to the floor and trips McGillicutty, he tries a slingshot sunset flip, but McGillicutty counters and cradles him for three. 3.5/10 That was an abrupt ending. The match was passable but boring, nothing special other than wrestlers going through the motions and a quick shocking ending. Nothing special here, except McGillicutty pinning Riley clean.
Here is your winner… Michael McGillicutty @ approx. 8:55 via sunset flip cradle counter pinfall.
